The Alumni of the Sisters of Mary School in Cebu has been in existence for a number of years already. As an Association, it seeks to foster: loyalty and pride to the Sisters of Mary School, commitment and communications between and among the graduates and current students. It also intends to reach out to its Alumni constituency in as many ways as possible, so as to rebuild and forge connections into ongoing, engaging relationships, renew and strengthen friendships made in the campuses and nurture lifelong relationships with and among current and future Alumni members. Furthermore, it seeks to make known to the whole world, with its Alumni members as living examples, the goodwill, commitment, community service and greatness of The Sisters of Mary School as an institution.

"A School is known by the Character of its Alumni."
These words signify the major role the Alumni of the Sisters of Mary School-Cebu has to play in helping shape the Sisters of Mary School’s past, present and future. As alumni, each member has a continuing role in the fortunes of the school.
It is in this great desire that the Alumni Association came into inception with its very formidable rallying vision: Putting Current and Future Alumni First: Together Serving the Lord with Joy.

The 1983 Ramon Magsaysay Award for International Understanding
BIOGRAPHY of Aloysius Schwartz
ALOYSIUS SCHWARTZ was born September 18, 1930 in Washington, D.C., as America entered the second year of the great depression. His father, Louis F. Schwartz, had come to the city from nearby Baltimore, Maryland during the 1920s to look for work. Although he had only a fourth grade education, he became a furniture salesman and was successful enough to purchase a small rental property in the northeast section of the city and to marry a beautiful young secretary who had come to Washington from Montana and was working at the Government Printing Office. Cedelia Verrasa was a "catch." She had turned down a dozen marriage proposals before accepting Schwartz, who attributed his success to the fact that he was willing to accompany her to the Roman Catholic masses, vigils and novenas she was so fond of attending. Louis Schwartz had been a good church member; his courtship and marriage encouraged him to become more faithful and devout.
